Installation
The Prevu3D application is launched from a single file executable that doesn't require any installation : it's as easy as click-and-play.
Getting an application with your environment
If you already have a Prevu3D application, you can skip this section.
Prevu3D gets your heavy 3D scanned environment data into a simple and intuitive application, visualizing your 3D environment has never been easier and lighter!
Before being usable by Prevu3D, your 3D data has to be processed and optimized. To get an application containing your 3D environment, you can either use:
- Prevu3D Cloud (online processing)
- Prevu3D On Premise (local / confidential processing)
- Prevu3D Scanning services (all in one solution, from scanning to delivering an application)
- or get the application from someone who shared it with you
The processing accepts a wide range of 3D data (point clouds and meshes), you may find more information on our website.
Running the application
As the application is a no-install application, it is usually zipped in a .zip file. You must unzip the file before launching the application :
Once your application is unzipped, you may launch the application by clicking on Prevu3D.exe
Your environment data is contained in the Data folder which is loaded by default. If this folder is not found, the application will load the first found compatible data folder available alongside the executable.
You may also switch between multiple environments by placing more data folders alongside the Prevu3D executable (Prevu3D.exe) and by loading them in File > Load another environment menu on application run. You can also browse for Data folders anywhere on your disk.
If you want to share your environment later, you'll just have to zip the .exe file and the corresponding data folder again. You can also share a layout on the web viewer using the Share layout with cloud feature.
For sharing inside enterprise network, you can copy the application and its Data folder on a network drive. Although, do not run the application directly on a network drive, this could corrupt your Data (make a local copy first).
Computer requirements and compatibility
Your 3D data is heavily optimized by Prevu3D. Therefore, visualizing your environment doesn't require a powerful PC:
